Local search for UK solar and renewables installers
Shared enquiries are sold to several installers at once, and the price race starts before you have finished reading the email. The alternative is being the company people find when they search your towns, and getting that enquiry on your own.
Not a lead broker. There is no enquiry list here to sell you. The work happens on your Google Business Profile, your website and your towns, and it stays yours.
What this is
The shared-lead model
Directory and lead-generation sites sell the same enquiry to more than one installer. By the time you ring, the homeowner has already spoken to two other companies, and the conversation you are walking into is about price. Not about your survey, not about the panel you would specify, not about whether the roof can take the fixings you would prefer to use.
What you are actually buying
Search works the other way round. A page that ranks for the work you do, in the towns you cover, sends the enquiry to one company. And the profile, the pages and the reviews behind it belong to you.
Four quotes, one job. The cheapest number usually wins it, and it is rarely the one that priced the scaffold honestly.
How it works
Primary and secondary categories, service areas that match where your vans actually go, products, the questions people ask, and photographs of your own installs rather than the manufacturer's. This is what decides whether you appear in the map results for your own town, and on most installer profiles it has been filled in once and never touched again.
Reviews are part of this too: how you ask, when you ask, and replying to the ones you would rather not have had.
Profile fields that carry weight
You do not work in one postcode, you work across a patch, and a homeowner in the next town searches with that town's name in the box. Each town needs a page that is genuinely about that town: the housing stock, the conservation areas, the DNO, the jobs you have already done nearby.
The same applies across services. Domestic retrofit, commercial rooftop, battery storage and EV charging are different searches made by different people, and a single page cannot answer all of them.
Coverage, drawn as an array
| Service | T1 | T2 | T3 | T4 | T5 | T6 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Domestic PV | ||||||
| Commercial PV | ||||||
| Battery storage | ||||||
| EV charging |
Diagram of the model. One cell per town, per service. Not client data.
A site that answers what a person actually wants to know before they get in touch: whether you have worked on a roof like theirs, what the survey involves, who handles the DNO application, what happens if the scaffold has to go up over a conservatory. Written for a homeowner in one place and a facilities manager in another, because they are not asking the same question.
Then a form that arrives with enough in it to price the visit: roof type, rough size, whether they want storage, what triggered the search.
What lands in your inbox
Why solar only
They will write something about harnessing the power of the sun, put a stock photograph of a roof at sunset across the top of your homepage, and ask you in the second meeting what MCS stands for. Meanwhile you are the one explaining, every week, why a quote that looks cheaper is missing the scaffold and the DNO application.
This agency works with UK solar and renewables installers and nobody else. That is a smaller market, deliberately. It means the conversation starts somewhere further along.
Things you will not have to explain
The part nobody else does
Every school, care home, factory, farm and council you have fitted panels for has a website. Some of those sites carry far more weight than anything a marketing directory could ever give you. Almost nobody ever asks them for a link.
Not all of them. The ones where the customer has a website worth a link and a person on the end of an email: the academy trust, the housing association, the manufacturer, the council depot.
The specification, the constraints, what the roof turned out to be, what was changed on site, the commissioning. A page the customer is happy to be associated with, because it makes them look organised too.
In your voice, to your contact, referencing the actual job. Short. No marketing language in it, because the person receiving it is a business manager or an estates lead, not a marketer.
The sustainability page, the news item, the annual report paragraph — drafted and handed over, so the answer to "we don't have time to write anything" is that it is already written.
Through the web person, the agency that built their site, the person who left and the person who replaced them. This is the stage where it normally dies, and it is the stage you never have to touch.
The whole ask on your side
That is it. No writing, no chasing, no wondering what to say to a customer you finished with eighteen months ago.
What we do not say
We do not promise that a link happens. That decision belongs to your customer and their web person, and anyone who tells you otherwise is guessing. What we can do is remove every practical reason for it not to happen, and then keep asking politely.
What it costs
Same work in each case. The difference is how many towns it has to reach, and how many sets of results have to be reported on.
Founding places — 3 of them
The first 3 installers to come on at county coverage or above pay a third off, for as long as they stay. In exchange their business becomes an ongoing case study — I publish what I do and what happens, from the first month onwards, good and bad. These are for installers ready to start now. If you would rather see how I work first, the calculator is the smaller way in — but the founding rate is only held while the places last. What that involves
Start here, if you would rather
The one part of this you can have without the rest. It gives a homeowner an answer at nine at night instead of a contact form, and it sends you the enquiry with the roof they traced. It will not get anyone to your website — that is what the coverage levels below do.
Coverage level 01
One town and the villages that sit around it. Suits one van, or two working close together.
£795
per month
Coverage level 02
Every town you will actually send a van to across one county, domestic and commercial handled separately.
£999
per month, founding rate · then £1,495
Coverage level 03
More than one county, or more than one depot, each needing its own local presence.
£1,665
per month, founding rate · then £2,495
Six-month minimum, then month to month. No setup fee. One installer per patch, so the areas above are only available while nobody else holds them. A single town does not move enough, quickly enough, to make a case study worth reading. The founding places start at county coverage for that reason.
Start a conversation
Four questions, because the answer to "can this work for you" depends entirely on the size of your patch and what you are already paying for enquiries. If it is not a fit, I will tell you that rather than book a call about it.
